Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of that search. If you contact us, we receive the details included in your message and use them to answer.
Routine Technical Data
Standard hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review combined traffic information to maintain the service and understand page use. Basic analytics and advertising measurement may use cookies or comparable technology where applicable.
How the Data Is Used
The limited data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic counts, and page improvements. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and outside search services. Information submitted after leaving this site is governed by the destination's policy. Sponsored search results are also supplied by a third party under its own privacy terms.
Limited Data Sharing
Hosting and support vendors process technical logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Other disclosure occurs only when valid legal process requires it.
Data Safeguards
Connections are encrypted, and logs are retained only as long as the stated purposes require. Because visitors do not create accounts, the site keeps no user password or account profile.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to access, correct, or delete personal data vary by jurisdiction. Illinois' Personal Information Protection Act, 815 ILCS 530, addresses reasonable security practices and breach notice; it is not a general deletion right for public records. A broader Illinois consumer privacy proposal, HB5221, remained pending as of August 23, 2026 and is not treated here as current law. Because we retain little, a request usually involves checking contact mail and server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by Illinois, Lake County, or Libertyville offices remain under the custodian's control.
Policy Revisions
Revisions will appear on this page. Continued use after a posted change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
